1978 to 1983 studies of biology and philosophy in Hamburg. 1985 to 1990 studied law in Regensburg and Münster, 1991 to 1993 legal clerkship. 1995 admitted to the bar in Münster, 2002 appointed specialist lawyer for tax law, 2005 appointed specialist lawyer for medical law. 2015 acquisition of the international lawyer title "Master of Law" (LL.M.). In 2019 the doctorate to Dr. jur. on the topic: "The criminal law principle of guilt in the field of tension between philosophical, theological and legal understanding of guilt" (m. c. l.), published by Verlag Walter de Gruyter, Berlin 2020.
