Stephan Schmitter has been Managing Director of RTL NEWS since April 2021. He is also Managing Director of ntv, Head of Audio at Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland and CEO of RTL Radio Deutschland based in Berlin. Stefan Schmitter is a Member of the Board of the Bertelsmann Content Alliance. Upon completing his studies in communication, theatre and political science, he began his career in the radio business in 1996. He worked at Radio Gong 96.3 in Munich, holding various positions during his time there. From 2007 to 2020 Schmitter served as Managing Director of RTL Radio Center Berlin GmbH. In 2018 he was appointed CEO of RTL Radio Deutschland.
