Prof. Säemann has many years of experience in many areas of nephrology, covering the entire spectrum of clinical nephrology from acute kidney failure to kidney transplantation and the most diverse aspects of chronic kidney failure, including the more modern procedures of extracorporeal blood washing such as haemodialysis or haemodialysis filtration. His research interests include the molecular analysis of the renin-angiotensin system, HDL cholesterol in uraemia and posttransplant diabetes. Since 2017, Prof. Säemann has held the Chair of Nephrology at SFU and is responsible, among other things, for nephrology in the curriculum.
