Kathy Reboly was the founding director of Sigmund Freud Private University Berlin from October 2013 to December 2023. She has headed the Department of Psychotherapy Science and the affiliated state-approved training institute for psychotherapy since 2016, and since 2017 together with Univ.-Prof. Dr. Georg Franzen.
She obtained her licence to practise as a psychological psychotherapist (in the fields of TP & PA) in 2010 and received her doctorate in 2016 on the academisation of psychotherapy at SFU Vienna. In 2018, she was appointed assistant professor of psychotherapy science; the final evaluation of her tenure track to associate professor was completed in 07/2025.
In 2024/25, she was co-opted as vice-dean for university psychotherapy at the Faculty of Psychotherapy Science Vienna Berlin.
Since 2013, she has been working as a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst in her own KV practice and in the SFU teaching practice. She is a supervisor, teaching therapist, KBV assessor, licensing examiner (LAGeSo Berlin) and, since December 2023, authorised by the PTK Berlin to conduct the new further training for specialist psychotherapists (TP).
