is Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Glasgow. Coming from Vienna, where he studied law and musicology, he qualified as a solicitor (non-practising) in London and then became a university lecturer. His research focuses on intellectual property law, comparative commercial and civil law, the private law prerequisites of the monetary system and banking law, and interdisciplinary areas such as music and copyright, political theory (property theory) and the history of ideas in law.
