Resume
Dr. Andreja Poljanec, university graduate psychologist, marriage and family therapist, lecturer and head of the Psychology study program at Sigmund Freud University Vienna – Ljubljana branch, also lectures at the Faculty of Applied Social Studies in Nova Gorica. In addition to her therapeutic work with individuals, couples, and families, and supervising professional staff, she conducts workshops, lectures, and leads various groups. She is the author of numerous Slovenian and international publications, including the books Rahločutnost do otrok (Sensitivity to Children), Rahločutno starševstvo (Sensitive Parenting), Med dvema ognjema (Between Two Fires), and others. In her research and practice, she focuses primarily on safe and dignified relationships in various systems and how to create quality life and development within them. She is a co-founder of the Study and Research Center for the Family. For many years, she has developed and led programs to help children, adolescents, and their families under the financial auspices of the Ministry of Labor, Family, Social Affairs, and Equal Opportunities, and has led various projects funded by the European Social Fund, the Ministry of Education, and others. She is socially active; in 2021/2022, she was also a member of the Government's Strategic Council for Social Policy. She is the editor-in-chief of the scientific journal Kairos. In relationships where there is emotional contact and empathy develops, life is more satisfying and healthy, both physically and mentally.
