Resume

Janette Friedrich studied philosophy at the University of Rostov-on-Don and completed her doctorate in 1991 at the Humboldt University of Berlin (The Content of Language Form: Paradigms from Bakhtin to Vygotsky). She is a Feodor Lynen Fellow and worked with Jean-Marc Ferry at the C.N.R.S in Paris. From 1994 to 2024, she is a lecturer at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the University of Geneva. She was research director at the Collège International de Philosophie (Paris), editor of Studia philosophica (Swiss Journal of Philosophy) and is a member of the Laboratoire d'histoire des théories linguistiques at the C.N.R.S, Paris. From 2019 to 2022, she is working on a research project on Karl Bühler at the Faculty of Psychology at the SFU with a Lise Meitner position funded by the FWF. Her research focuses on the history of psychology, the philosophy of language and mind and philosophical debates on the concept of knowledge. She is co-editor of Bühleriana, a series of publications on the work of Karl Bühler.
