Elise Bittenbinder Is president of the German Association of Psychosocial Centres for Refugees and Victims of Torture (BAfF) and chairperson of the European Network of Rehabilitation Centres for Victims of Torture. Until 2020 she was clinical director at XENION, Psychosocial Centre for Refugees and Victims of Torture in Berlin. From 1981 to 1986, she was Secretary-General of an international NGO based in Belgium.
She is a family and child psychotherapist and supervisor. She works as trainer, consultant and supervisor in different countries for organisations including as consultant on psychosocial and mental health to a UN agency in the Middle East.
