is head of the Department for Family, Personal and Inheritance Law (Dept. I 1) at the Federal Ministry of Justice. In his area of responsibility, the most recent reforms were the reform of the law of parent and child (2013), the law on reproductive medicine (2014), the law of succession (2015) and currently the law on guardians. He is a senior public prosecutor and an expert in family, personal and inheritance law. He has been a judge and is active in the training and further education of judges. He is also the founder, co-editor and editor of the Interdisciplinary Journal of Family Law (iFamZ) and a member of the executive board of the International Society for Family Law of the scientific advisory board of the Austrian Society for Family and Property Law.
