Filmmaking and film analysis with Elisa Herrmann

SFU Linz has the unique opportunity to welcome the Brazilian filmmaker Elisa Herrmann for a lecture and a film screening on 3rd of April, from 16 to 20h.

All students and other interested are welcome to join us for this afternoon/evening in English.

Elisa Herrmann is an awarded filmmaker from Brazil, who has directed several experimental, narrative and documentary short films, as well as written award winning screenplays. Currently, Elisa is an Assistant Professor of Mass Communication at SHSU (Texas, USA), where she teaches film and TV, and also produces her own films.

Elisa has a degree in Art Education from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), a specialization in Audiovisual Communication from Catholic University of the State of Paraná (PUC-PR), and a Master of Fine Arts in Mass Communication and Media Arts from SIU/USA.

During her stay in Austria she will present her works at the Brazilian Arts and Culture Festival “Brazil meets Gmünd” in Kärnten, from 5th to 7th of April 2019.

For all interested she will give a lecture about filmmaking and film analysis and then show us some of her productions (in English or with English subtitles).

There will be time to discuss with her these productions afterwards.
